Gosainkunda |
Gosainkunda, -the place where lord Shiva got relief after having the blue poison in order to save the universe. Because of this myth, it is a very religious and sacred pilgrim for all Hindu community. It is situated at an altitude of 4360 m above sea level in Rasuwa district. It is a glacier fed lake which later drains into the Trishuli river. Apart from it ,there are many other lakes-Suryakunda, Bhairavkunda, Saraswotikunda and Naagkunda. In Newar community, it is believed that everyone should visit Gosainkunda at least once in his/her lifetime. Because of this reason, plus I had watched a documentary of this religious place in my childhood, I kept a view to visit Gosainkunda once in my lifetime.
I got the chance to visit this sacred place on 2011-8-8. And here begins my trekking in this way.
1st day 2011-8-8.

Chisapani
|
We were a total of 20 members, two of whom were Spanish. We started our trek from our own home but we jointly started from Sundarijal. I felt so difficult to crossed the cliffs. I was so amazed to viewed the Kathmandu valley from the top of the hills. We were walking and walking sharing own experiences of trek and new stufffs. This was my first trekking so I was listening rest of the trek members experiences with excitement. After a trek of 5 hrs, we reached Chisapani where we stopped our trek for the first day, and spent the night at hotel.
2nd day 2011-8-9.

Kutumsang check post |
We continued our trek from Chisapani. But on this day, every one felt hot because the day was warm and wet, however it was full of fun too. Because it was a damp region, everyone suffered from leeches on this day. Even I got the feeling of leech when we reached Kutumsang, from where Langtang National Park flourishes. In order to be safe from leeches, I put some salt on my legs but it was already covered full of blood. I knew I had become the victim of leeches. I cleaned my legs and went to room for rest at the hotel. We met another 6 people at that place, who were heading for Gosainkunda and later on, they too joined our group. They were too funny and happy people( for me). There, we spent our second night but I could not sleep properly because the rain and wind continued to pour for the whole night.
3rd day 2011-8-10.
Aummmm, this day was quite tiresome than before. After crossing Kutumsang, I discovered that the way sloppy, inclined, as well as covered with stones and rocks every where and huge hills sorrounding ahead. The environment was silent or peaceful than before. We just walked for the whole day crossing Thare pati, Gopte and finally reached Laurebina. We took many photos and snapped one group photo too, which was the funniest and most memorable moment of trek.

Pica. |
I got the chance to view pica (mouse) which was browny and stony in color. I got shocked when I found that it was tail less. That was then, a new thing or a new creature for me, which I had not seen ever before. We spent our third night at Laurebina at a plastic covered tent.We all were so eager to sleep but the 6 men were so busy to have the marijauna in the name of lord Shiva. I could not sleep that night due to the cold and rainy weather.
4th day 2011-8-11.
It was the day we finally reached Gosainkunda, Luckily, it was the day of Janai Purnima. To day I got chance to view the sun because I had not seen it for three days during this trek.We had our bath in the sacred pond, and after that we worshiped the god nearby the pond. I experienced that when we were inside the pond we felt warm but suddenly, when we moved out of it, I felt cold as if I got frostbitten . After bath, I filled the bottle with water of the pond in order to take at home since it is sacred and holy.
I wore a shirt which had written "Nepal Tourism Year 2011" in it. This was the year, our government announced '2nd Nepal Tourism Year- 2011'. I bought that shirt just for this trek. After all the rituals, we took a round at the pond. Then we had our tea and moved to Dhunche- headquarter of Rauswa district for night spending. It was impossible to reach Dhunce at one day but we did it at all cost. And I felt it was easy too because we just had to move down.We visited cheese factory at Chandan bari where I bought 500 gm of cheese.

Monastery at Dhunche |
I felt good when I viewed the monastery that I had only seen in the Newari movie-"Silu "and in documentary of Gosainkunda. However, to reach Dhunche we passed many hills and finally after walking for the whole day, we reached our destination where we spend our fourth and the last night at the hotel. I got the opportunity to charge my mobile and camera at the hotel. There, I had a nice sleep but others did not sleep till mid night because everyone was just so excited to return to their homes and they were discussing about the trek; I was too but I was thinking when would I be visiting this place again. "JUST MISSING THAT BATH."
5th and last day 2011-8-12
The last day's morning was full of sadness as we had to leave Gosainkunda. Although, on the other hand it was the happiest time as well to get to return back home. I woke up early in order to watch the Lantang mountain. It was so closer from the roof of the hotel; I felt as if I could touch it. I felt so glad to view the beautiful sunrise. We had our breakfast and soon moved to bus. Oh my god..... I got so scared while the bus was moving on the graveled and muddy road. At the right side of the road, there was a slope. I thought that if the driver looses the balance, then we may fall from that slope which was very deep. The road was frequently flooded and so in order to change the bus we began walking from the flooded area. Stones were falling down while we were approaching ahead; thank god...... no one was hurt. We got onto another bus and traveled nonstop until we reached Kathmandu. There, we were picked by our bus and we moved to Pashupatinath temple for completing the rituals. After that, we straightly moved to our home.
